CTL Conference Room (W.E.B. Du Bois Library, 714)

Presenters: Alexandra Lauterbach, Jane Piselli (Special Education, Student Development, UMass); Marta Sabariego (Neuroscience and Behavior, Mount Holyoke College)

Explore how Universal Design for Learning (UDL) can transform neuroscience education for undergraduate students by creating accessible, equitable learning environments. This research talk focuses on a collaborative study of enhancing self-efficacy, academic performance, and inclusivity for all undergraduate students in an intro-level Neuroscience course, particularly those with disabilities. Discover a UDL course model, evidence of its impact, and strategies for adapting these practices to other STEM disciplines in higher education.

The SoTL Working Group is open to all UMass instructors with an interest in the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning. Drop in to any meeting; no pre-registration required. Come in person or email Colleen Kuusinen for the event link at @email.

Find the list of our meetings on the SoTL Working Group page and join the SoTL Working Group Listserv to get meeting reminders and extra notices on upcoming SoTL conferences, calls for proposals, and events.
