The Dialogic Classroom Fellows Program, a partnership between the Intergroup Dialogue Initiative (IGDI) and the CTL, prepares full-time faculty and instructors to facilitate meaningful and difficult conversations with and among students. The fellowship emphasizes practices such as shared purposes and agreements, questions that surface diverse perspectives and complexities, and structured exchanges that support thoughtful speaking and deep listening — approaches that foster curiosity, critical thinking, and a classroom where every voice is welcomed, valued, and heard.
Sustained engagement beyond the fellowship year is a built-in component of the program, and the AY 2026–2027 offerings carry it forward. While no new cohort will be admitted in AY 2026–2027, the CTL will support IGDI programming that offers continued engagement for the 2025–2026 cohort through monthly sessions where fellows reconnect and receive support as they implement the dialogic practices and strategies they developed during their fellowship year. In collaboration with IGDI, the CTL will also host a Lightning Talk session featuring selected fellows sharing how they have brought dialogic practices into their classrooms — from small seminars to large lecture courses.
The CTL has been a partner in the Dialogic Classroom Fellows Program since its inception, co-facilitating sessions throughout the fellowship year. Fellows are also welcome to request a CTL consultation at any time for individual support with course design, syllabus revision, or classroom practice.
