The completion of the Design Building and relocation of the Architecture department presented an opportunity to fully reconfigure and renovate the fourth-floor “Art Bridge” of the Bromery Center for the Arts, and to modernize and expand the space for the Art, Music, and Theater departments. Funded by the UMBA, the renovation of the 646-foot long, multi-disciplinary space includes a design studio, an extensive theater rehearsal studio, a costume shop, a music education classroom, music seminar room, and a recording studio, along with newly designed spaces for animation and art classes, and a computer lab. This project enhances the integrity of the original building and creates a welcoming and transformative space that increases the visibility of the arts, while encouraging interaction among students and faculty in the creative disciplines.  Orientation along the length of the bridge is improved through the use of color and large and small-scale gathering spaces.
