Sierra Vaughan-Gabor

Position at CCPH: Clinical Social Work Intern.

Year joined UMass: 2019.

Clinical Interests: While I primarily have a psychodynamic frame to my work, I feel it is important to find a way of working together in collaboration in whichever way feels best. I tend to focus my thinking through relational, attachment, and object relational lenses. I also believe in the importance of creating room for discussion around the influence of larger systems and how this connects with more individual work.  I have particular clinical interest in trauma as well as times of transitions in people’s lives.

Education: BA Hampshire College; Currently in MSW program at Smith School for Social Work.

Professional Experience:  Past experience includes inpatient addiction rehabilitation as well a neurofeedback therapy with a wide variety of ages and concerns such as trauma, anxiety, depression, ADHD, and addiction.

More about: I am originally from Chicago, but have fallen for New England over the past 9 years, particularly the fall seasons. I enjoy cooking, hiking, aerial circus, live music and generally connecting with people.
