Position at CCPH: Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
Year Joined UMass: 2022
Clinical Interests: My approach towards practice is personalized care, curtailed to each student’s individual need. Therefore, my clinical interest is each student that I have the honor of treating. Particularly learning about all the different experiences and challenges that has occurred prior to walking through my office door (or Zoom room), and collaboratively working towards guiding resilience and emergence of each student’s authentic and best self. If medication treatment would help this process, I have over a decade of experience to successfully implement this intervention.
Education: Master of Science in Nursing with a specialization in Psychiatric Mental Health, MGH Institute of Health Professions, Boston, MA; Bachelors of Science in Nursing, MGH Institute of Health Professions, Boston, MA; BA in Clinical Psychology, Keene State College, Keene, NH; AS in Chemical Dependency, Keene State College, Keene, NH.
Professional Experience: For the past decade I was worked as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in community outpatient mental health organizations, providing medication management to hundreds of individuals struggling with a spectrum of mental health challenges. Prior to this I have experience working on inpatient psychiatric units, substance use rehabilitation centers, and psychiatric emergency rooms. I have worked with patients to manage a wide variety of mental health concerns and crises.
Certifications/Licenses: Licensed Nurse Practitioner in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, ANCC Board Certified Adult Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, Certification in Mind Body Spirit Nursing. I am a member of the American Psychiatric Nurses Association and the Massachusetts Association of Advanced Practice Psychiatric Nurses.
More About Me: I derive joy from any sort of dance party, live music, good food, belly laughs, walking in the woods, traveling, seeing new things, and hugging my family and friends.
