About

Year joined UMass: 2016

Education: B.S., Environmental Science with Biophysical Emphasis, Northland College, 1997

Professional Experience: The majority of my career has been spent in public health, having been both a clinical staff member and an administrator at Federally Qualified Community Health Centers and an environmental medicine office in Massachusetts. I am bilingual in Spanish and have some training in medical interpretation.

Interests: Having worked with underserved and underrepresented populations in my career, it has been great being on campus and finding ways in which I can use that experience while working with students. I enjoy learning new things and am consistently trying to expand my knowledge when it comes to project management, operational efficiencies, and organizational culture. I have also taken introductory courses in American Sign Language so that I can communicate with my youngest daughter more effectively and foster inclusivity for her and others.
