Whether you are coming to Amherst for spring semester or engaging in studies from across the globe, we have made every effort to create a plan that meets your needs and keeps you connected to campus.
For those students who will be living on campus or in the Amherst area, we have replaced the UMass Community Agreement, used in the fall, with an Interim Pandemic Policy. This policy, developed by students and staff and reviewed by the Student Government Association and the Graduate Student Senate, clearly outlines expectations for the spring semester. Please see the University COVID-19 website for the full text of the policy.
It is important to note the policy requirement that all students living off-campus provide their physical address for spring semester, which is the location where you will be primarily living and sleeping. This information allows us to communicate with you concerning important health and safety updates. You can change your physical address in SPIRE any time throughout the spring semester.
Additionally, students who will be residing in the Amherst area for spring 2021, please note the specific guidance regarding travel to campus and associated testing requirements. Your commitment to following the back-to-campus testing and quarantine protocols will help us mitigate the spread of COVID-19 in our community.
Each of you, regardless of your proximity to campus, contributes to our overall health and wellness during this challenging time. Clearly, the choices you make every day—who to see, how to safely socialize, when to limit travel—positively influence our ability to safely live together and I am grateful for your efforts.
