The responsible signature authority (Department ID Manager/PI) has the prime responsibility for authorization of expenditures for their DeptIDs. The responsible signature authority listed on the DeptID may delegate signature authority to another staff member.
The Controller’s Office is pleased to announce an updated Signature delegation form and review process. We consolidated the two existing PDF forms into one new Kuali build form!
The new form allows for tracking, data validation, and automatically routes upon submission.
The form interfaces with OWL to ensure training requirements are met for delegates on sponsored grants. If you are requesting delegation on sponsored grants, you are required to complete the Controller’s Office OWL training “Post Award -Financial Research Administration Training for Grants Administrators, PI’s and Delegates.”
Once the form is submitted and fully approved, it is complete. No further work is needed. Submitters will be able to track the progress of forms and both submitters and delegates will have access to their completed forms in Kuali.
New Kuali forms do not need to be re-submitted for existing delegations. The Controller’s Office will transfer existing delegations to Kuali.
Please use the new Kuali form for all signature delegation requests going forward. If you have a PDF signature delegation form routed for approvals, please submit these by Monday 4/7.
