UMass Amherst faculty, staff, and retirees who are feeling despair or dismay as a result of the 2016 election can put their feelings into action by donating to nonprofit organizations dedicated to fighting for justice and helping those in need. Here are some of the nonprofits that people have already donated to through UMACC:
- The Southern Poverty Law Center is dedicated to fighting hate and bigotry and to seeking justice for the most vulnerable members of our society. Using litigation, education, and other forms of advocacy, the SPLC works toward the day when the ideals of equal justice and equal opportunity will be a reality. (splcenter.org)
