The Communication Department is proud to announce the winners of the Elaine E. Nord (’81) scholarship for creative communications. This scholarship is designed to help offset expenses related to a Communication major's unpaid summer internship in production or creative communications. Our winners this year are Zahriana Newson Gadsden and Maureen Del Villar Cuevas.
Zahriana will be interning for Haymarket Media in social media and marketing. Zahriana is looking forward to learning “how to create useful social media campaigns to help achieve our clients goals and also how to market our clients across different audiences!”
Maureen will be a Public Relations Intern on the Lifestyle Team at 5WPR in New York City. Maureen is “ecstatic to have been provided this opportunity, as well as honored to receive the Nord Scholarship. This scholarship will help support my endeavors this summer as I learn the ins and outs of media monitoring, participate in product send outs, write pitch and press releases, and so much more.”
