Professor Ayanna Dozier is presenting a film as part of American Gurl, an ongoing curatorial project that explores the diverse facets of the American Dream. This installment will take the form of a film exhibition at the Harvey B. Gantt Center for African American Arts + Culture, featuring eight films by a range of intergenerational artists. These films delve into the complexities and nuances of the Black feminine experience, examining themes such as beauty, success, freedom, and power in the context of American culture.
In addition to her involvement with American Gurl, Professor Dozier is participating in CROSSROADS 2024, an online film festival. Her six-minute film, It's Just Business, Baby, is currently being showcased and will be available for viewing through October 12.
