Application Checklist

The following is required for all incoming graduate students applying to the Ph.D. program.

1. Completed application form.
2. Graduate Admissions Short Essay
3. Payment of the Application Fee
4. An undergraduate GPA of at least 2.7 on a 4.0 scale or an equivalent to this score.
5. One official transcript from each school the applicant previously attended (mailed directly to the Graduate School).
6. Three letters of recommendation from persons in the applicant’s major area. (Although the University requires two, the Department requires three.)
7. Personal statement between 1.5 and 3 pages
8. CV or résumé
9. Writing sample of no more than 25 pages

GRE Scores are Optional

International applicants should also provide Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) scores if required by the Grad School, or alternatives as stipulated by the Graduate School.
