Tanya (Tianyi) Yang
Bio
Tanya is a Communication Ph.D. Student at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. She held an MA in Journalism and Communication from Shanghai Jiao Tong University and a BA in German from East China Normal University. Her scholarly concerns were mainly focused on youth civic engagement and the intersection of politics, digital media, and popular culture. She also plans to explore online subculture in China, including fandom culture and hip-hop culture.
