Kristin Lacey

About
Dr. Kristin Lacey is a Lecturer of Writing and Public Speaking; she teaches Comm 375: Writing as Communication and Comm 260: Public Speaking. She also serves as Course Director for 260 and 375, supervising the graduate instructors of these courses. She believes strongly that community-building in the classroom leads to more effective learning experiences and looks forward to getting acquainted with UMass.
Dr. Lacey earned her Bachelor's in English from California State University, Fresno and her MA and PhD in English and American Literature from Boston University. She worked as a Postdoctoral Teaching Associate at Northeastern University for two years, where she taught in the Writing Program.
Dr. Lacey is a proud first-generation college graduate, a dedicated teacher since 2017, and an avid reader and writer. Originally from California, she has lived in Massachusetts for about 10 years. She recently moved to Western Mass with her wife, dog, and two cats. Stop by her office any time to talk teaching, pets, books, or reality TV.
