Interests

My research traverses the fields of film studies and anthropology, particularly along the lines of the social aesthetics and phenomenology of technology and the body.  My articles have appeared in PostScript, Journal of Film and Video, Film and Philosophy, AfterImage, and Medical Anthropology. My film projects have taken me to Ethiopia, Japan, Ireland, Nigeria, Italy, and India.

Current Projects

I am currently in development of a nonfiction series, The Future of Coffee.  My film Awakening the Internal Sound: the music and mission of Rabindra Goswami (2020), has played in multiple international film festivals and most recently won the prize for Best Documentary Short at the Beyond Earth Film Festival.  My film, Layers of Pompeii (2019), has also screened at festivals.  My film heros are Jean Rouch, Chris Marker, and Maya Deren.
