Bio

Janet is a first year Communications PhD student. Prior to joining University of Massachusetts Amherst, she obtained her Master’s from London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), where she studied transnational manifestation of victimhood nationalism on South Korean television: the relationship between the memory makers and the memory consumers. She received her Bachelor’s in American Culture and Psychology from Sogang University in South Korea. Her current research interests include media literacy, civic engagement, and media effects as well as intersection of history, memory and television/film.
