One graduating Honors student will pay tribute to their peers and their accomplishments.
Celebration of Excellence Frequently Asked Questions
I am an Honors student. When and where will I receive my gold stole?
- Graduating Honors students receive their gold stoles in a formal presentation during the Celebration of Excellence ceremony on April 29, 2025, at the Bromery Center for the Arts. Details regarding the ceremony and how stoles will be presented are posted on the Celebration of Excellence web page.
My student is in Commonwealth Honors College and will be participating in the Celebration of Excellence ceremony on April 29. How can I participate in the ceremony?
- Due to space limitations at the Bromery Center, the ceremony will be focused on students and faculty sponsors. We invite families and friends to view the celebration via livestream. The link to the livestream will be posted on this web page on April 29.
I would like to have a photo of my student walking across the stage. How can I get a picture of them if I am not there?
- Ultimate Exposures® will be on-site and will take professional pictures of the students crossing the stage in their stoles. A link will be sent to the email address provided by each student within 48 hours of the ceremony.
As family members we are looking forward to seeing our Honors student’s hard work recognized. How will we be able to celebrate this important milestone with them?
- The Celebration of Excellence will focus only on students and faculty. However, family, friends, and guests are invited to attend the school and college senior recognition events in May, where each student will have their name called as they cross the stage, and the undergraduate commencement ceremony where degrees will be conferred as students rise with their classmates. At these ceremonies, Honors students will wear gold stoles over their gowns and be recognized for completing the Commonwealth Honors College requirements.
I am an Honors student and have questions about my eligibility for the Celebration of Excellence ceremony. Who should I contact?
- Seniors are urged to meet with a Commonwealth Honors College advisor to confirm that they are fulfilling all requirements for graduating from Commonwealth Honors College. Please contact Commonwealth Honors College at @email with your questions. Be sure to include Celebration of Excellence in your inquiry.

I'm an undergraduate—which ceremonies should I attend?
We encourage undergraduates and families to attend both the main commencement ceremony on Friday, May 16, at 5 p.m. and their individual senior recognition ceremony. The senior recognition ceremonies are smaller, more intimate events where each undergraduate's name is called.
Are there tickets to attend the ceremonies? What is the cost? Which ceremonies?
All events are free of charge.
- For the doctoral hooding on May 16 at the Mullins Center, the main Undergraduate Commencement on May 16 at McGuirk Stadium, and the Stockbridge School of Agriculture Commencement (Associate Degree) on May 17 at Bowker Auditorium, there are no tickets required, no limits on the number of guests, and no need to register the names of your guests.
- However, guest tickets are required for the Master's and Education Specialist Commencement ceremony and all senior recognition ceremonies (see schedule).
Additional details about tickets will be shared soon.
