Call for Proposals

The University of Massachusetts Amherst invites all graduating master’s, education specialist, and doctoral degree candidates to submit a speech proposal for consideration as the Graduate Student Speaker for the Class of 2025.

While there is no prescribed prompt, your proposal should celebrate the achievements and resilience of the graduating class, recognizing the hard work accomplished and any challenges overcome to reach this remarkable milestone. Imagine yourself on stage at the Mullins Center while your cohort, friends, family, and guests are in the audience. How do you want the audience to feel and what do you want them to understand as they prepare to witness the formal recognition of all you and your classmates achieved? You are encouraged to demonstrate your creativity while sharing your authentic experiences.

Proposals should consist of two typed double-spaced pages, or the equivalent of three to four minutes of speaking time.

Deadline

Submit your proposal by Monday, December 9, 2024, at 11:59 p.m.
