Regalia
Academic regalia is required for all University of Massachusetts Amherst commencement ceremonies. Rental of academic regalia is sponsored by the Provost’s Office and is provided to faculty free of charge. After the ordering deadline, extra regalia will be available to faculty on the first floor of the Campus Center in room 165 on the dates listed below.
The April 15 deadline for the ship to home option has passed. Shipping to home is no longer an option.
On campus pickup
If you placed an order to pick up regalia on campus before April 1, it can be picked up on the first floor of the Campus Center rooms 165-69, on the following dates and times:
- Thursday, May 7 and Friday, May 8, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Monday, May 11 through Thursday, May 14, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
If you did not pre-order regalia by April 1, you can still pick up regalia at the above times. This regalia will not be customized or discipline-specific.
Rental regalia may be returned by mail using the prepaid shipping label included in your regalia order or by dropping it off at 101 Munson Hall, ground floor.
Rental regalia must be returned by May 22.
Traffic, Parking, and Transportation
Please be advised that there will be heavy traffic on and around the university campus throughout Commencement Weekend, especially on Friday, May 15. Please allow extra time to navigate, as several roads will be partially closed or limited to one-way traffic. All cars will be directed to the nearest parking lots by UMass Police officers.
