About the YKCC
The Yuri Kochiyama Cultural Center was founded in 1989 as the United Asia Cultural Center, located in Knowlton Residence Hall. After a period of strategic planning, the UACC reopened in 1993 under the United Asia Learning Resource Center (UALRC). The UACC was later renamed in honor of Yuri Kochiyama for her belief in liberation and social justice.
