William M. Bulger Award
The department’s most prestigous award, given annually to the department’s outstanding majors as selected by the department faculty.
Tyler Rowland Prize for Greek and Latin Translation
Prizes are awarded each spring for the best translation at sight of a passage of Greek and a passage of Latin.
Alexander Rebelo DeSerpa Prize for Excellence in Beginning Latin and Beginning Greek
Given each year to the outstanding student in the intensive beginning Greek and Latin courses.
Jill Letteney Book Prize
Funded by the generosity of alumna Jill Letteney, a prize is given for the best essay describing the Classics books a student wishes to add to his or her collection.
David F. Grose Travel Fellowships
Awarded annually to undergraduate students of Classics to help defray the cost of summer travel and study related to classical antiquity.
Co-sponsored by the Department and the Etruscan Foundation, this award supports a student’s participation in summer archaeological fieldwork related to Etruscan antiquity.
Eta Sigma Phi
The national Classics honor society; invitations for membership are extended to students based on excellent performance in a Greek or Latin course.
