The Classical Archaeology Concentration is for students wishing to examine the material culture of the ancient Mediterranean. This track draws on methodologies and resources from literature, art history, anthropology, and archaeology. Program of studies:

A. Prerequisites (unless fulfilled by Advanced Placement): students must complete either Latin or Greek through the 200-level. The Latin or Greek sequence also satisfies the College of Humanities & Fine Arts language requirement. (12 credits)

A junior writing course in a second major may be substituted for this requirement.

H. Integrative Experience: students must take one IE. This is a university requirement but needs to be fulfilled within a student’s major. Students with a double major may take the IE in their other major.

I. Highly recommended but not required: at least one year of German, French, or Italian, and Greek or Latin past the third year. Particularly recommended for students planning on graduate studies in classical archaeology.
