Wendi Carman

In October 2022, Wendi began working with World Learning as the project director for QITABI 2, a large-scale, USAID-funded education project in Lebanon. 

 

Prior to that she spent six years working at the American Institutes for Research where she was project director for international education and youth programming, including youth violence prevention in the Latin America and Caribbean region.

 

Beginning in 2008 Wendi spent 8 years working with Creative Associates International where she started as a Technical Manager, based in Washington D.C., with Creative Associates for education projects in Nigeria, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan.  In that role she traveled to project sites to assist local staff with programming and administrative milestones. 

From 2009 to 2011 Wendi was External Relations Manager for Creative Associates in Kabul, Afghanistan working on a USAID-funded, in-service teacher training project. She then became the Deputy Country Coordinator in Dushanbe, Tajikistan.  She provided technical oversight for a local team implementing a USAID-funded, program to prevent school dropout. She led the writing and revision of manuals for training teachers, school directors and parents, planned training and capacity building workshops and coordinated with local education experts to develop lessons for tutors working in an after school program.

After finishing her degree at CIE, she worked for 2 years as an instructor with Juntos Distance Learning Program, an adult basic education program in Holyoke, Massachusetts. [4-24]
