Lindiwe Chide

After graduating from UMASS in 2005, I went back to my teaching job at Lilongwe Girls Secondary School in Malawi. Then in May 2005, I was posted to the Planning Department of the Ministry of Education as a Monitoring and Evaluation Officer, where I was responsible for coordinating the development and implementation of the Research, Monitoring and Evaluation systems for the Ministry of Education. While there I was given an extra portfolio of Public Relations Officer for the Ministry responsible for all PR activities for the ministry but was also the official Spokesperson for the Ministry of Education.

Later I moved to the Sector-wide Approach Section of the Planning Department responsible for donor coordination in the implementation of education activities.

From 2014 to 2015, I was seconded to the Office of the President, State Residences, where I worked as the Executive Assistance of the President of the Republic of Malawi. In that role I was responsible for managing the President’s schedule, drafting correspondence and speeches, arranging his travel, and doing research on current issues.

I rejoined the Ministry in November 2015 as the Deputy Director for the Department of Planning   and later in November 2017 I moved to the Directorate of Quality Assurance as Deputy Director.  I am now responsible for Curriculum development, implementation and evaluation but also quality assurance for schools and colleges among other things.
