CIE in partnership with Catholic Charities, and Focusing Initiatives International, has established a support group for recent Afghan women refugees in Western Massachusetts.

In 2021, Manjula Salomon (Ed.D. 1981) and her husband Stuart established an endowment fund called the Abrams, Bing and Urch CIE Support Fund to be used to support education-related travel or professional development activities of students affiliated with CIE.  The fund honors those who mentored Manjula while she was studying at CIE
