Angela Yang-Handy

Over the last several years, I have had a diverse and fulfilling career that has included working with K-12 schools, higher education, for-profit education service companies, as well as with NGO/non-profit community organizations focused on educational initiatives in a range of countries across six continents.

After spending a few years living in the Philippines while I finished my dissertation, I returned to the U.S. to direct the Center for International Education at Northfield Mount Hermon (NMH), a college preparatory, independent high school located in western Massachusetts.  I have held several different roles at NMH since I started.  I am currently serving as the Dean of Experiential Learning and Institutional Research.

I have published articles and presented on a range of study abroad, international student, and experiential education topics through various K-12 independent school professional associations as well as through NAFSA, and the Association for International Educators.  A 2019 article discusses “How Schools Can Better Support Third Culture Kids.”

Recently, I served on the National Association of Independent Schools’ Global Ambassadors Advisory Working Group, on the board of trustees of Hilltop Montessori School in Brattleboro, Vermont, and as an accreditation visiting team member for the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC).
