Commencement 2025
Award-winning creative director David Korins ’99 delivered the keynote address at the 155th Commencement ceremony of the University of Massachusetts Amherst on Friday, May 16, at 5 p.m. at McGuirk Alumni Stadium. In honor of his 30-year career creating immersive, multidimensional experiences for millions—through partnerships with artists, corporations, and brands—Korins was presented with an honorary degree.
The College of Natural Sciences held its Senior Celebration at the Mullins Center on Sunday, May 18th. Chemistry senior Kevin Alexander was selected by his peers for the role of Student Marshal. He, along with Professor Michael Barnes, Graduate Program Director, led the chemistry graduates in the procession. Each chemistry graduate was personally congratulated on stage by Department Head Professor Ricardo Metz and CNS Dean Michael Fox.
Following the CNS Celebration, the department hosted a Senior Reception Luncheon, providing graduates and their families an opportunity to connect with faculty and staff. Earlier in the month, many graduates and their families also attended the Chemistry Department’s Senior & Awards Dinner on May 2nd.
