Honoring Professor Peter Uden

Professor Peter C. Uden transformed lives of his students. His influence at UMass Amherst is reflected not only in his 34 years of service on the Chemistry faculty, but also in the countless students he guided and supported. An exceptional teacher and deeply committed mentor, he helped many navigate academic and personal challenges that might otherwise have hindered their success. Since becoming Professor Emeritus in 2004, his legacy has endured as a testament to the power of mentorship, compassion, and student-centered dedication—values that continue to inspire efforts to honor him and carry his impact forward for future generations.
