In addition to the CNS Senior Celebration and university commencement, the chemistry department will be hosting two events to honor our graduating seniors and celebrate with their families, faculty, and staff: our annual banquet dinner and a reception on graduation Saturday immediately following the CNS Senior Celebration.
Chemistry's Annual Senior and Awards Dinner

Campus Center's Amherst Room on the 10th floorSeniors are encouraged to attend this chemistry community event. Seniors and their parents are invited to the dinner as guests of the department. Additional dinner information will be posted at this site and emailed to students.
Chemistry Senior Group Photo
Thursday, April 28th
5:30pm in the ISB atriumA photo of the senior class on the ISB artium stairs will be taken just prior to the Senior and Awards Dinner. We ask seniors to meet at 5:20 pm in the ISB atrium for a class photo with the Undergraduate Program Director, Prof. Nathan Schnarr. If you are graduating this winter/spring/summer/fall in 2022, or fall 2021 we invite you to join us for the class photo and the dinner.

325 Integrated Sciences Building.Students, parents, and faculty will have the opportunity to gather and honor your accomplishments. Light refreshments will be served in ISB 329, an adjacent room that will be dedicated to food and drink.
CNS Senior Celebration

Mullins Center, UMass AmherstThis event will also be live streamed for those who do not wish to or cannot attend in person. Chemistry's Senior Reception will immediately follow in ISB 325. The CNS Senior Celebration website provides information about the university graduation events, as well as departmental recognition plans.
Seniors, please complete the short CNS Class of 2022 First Destination Survey to help the CNS Career Center know who is still looking for work, going to grad school, continuing their education, joining the military, or volunteering. University Commencement
Friday, May 13, 2022
4:30 – 6:30 p.m., rain or shine
McGuirk Alumni Stadium, UMass AmherstThe ceremony is scheduled to conclude at approximately 6:30 p.m. Shuttle buses will take guests to the ceremony from campus lots. Guests should plan to arrive on campus by 2:00 p.m. to allow plenty of time to reach campus, park, and arrive at the stadium via a shuttle bus.
The university's commencement website posts information as it becomes available about planning your visit and information for seniors, such as how to get a cap and gown, arrange senior portraits, etc.
If you need help finding a job after graduation, the CNS Career Center is open all summer to help recent grads find positions, or create alternate plans if job prospects have changed. Graduates are eligible to meet with a CNS Career Advisor for up to 3 months post-graduation. Contact Janet Bordwin, CNS Career Director, with any questions.
