Undergraduate Commencement
Kimberly S. Budd, the 38th Chief Justice of the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court, gave the keynote address at the 156th Commencement Ceremony on Friday, May 15 at McGuirk Alumni Stadium. She was presented with an honorary degree to celebrate her long and distinguished record of public service. Chancellor Javier A. Reyes said she "has devoted her career to the common good and given voice to those who are not always heard” and “Her knowledge and experience will inspire our graduates to do more and be more as they embark on their future and legacy after leaving UMass.”
The College of Natural Sciences held its Senior Celebration at the Mullins Center on Sunday, May 17th. Chemistry senior Owen Ball was selected by his peers for the role of Student Marshal. Owen and Professor Richard Vachet led the chemistry student procession. Each chemistry graduate was personally congratulated on stage by Department Associate Head Professor Rick Metz and CNS Dean Michael Fox.
