Teaching Interests:

Since joining UMass in 2017, I have been focusing on General Chemistry teaching. My primary goal is to ignite a spark within my students, fostering their innate curiosity and driving them to realize their full academic potential. In my classroom, I strive to cultivate an environment where students are not just passive recipients of knowledge, but active participants in their own learning journey. With the help of the latest advancements in technology and by embracing multi-modal teaching practices, I seek to engage students on multiple levels, catering to diverse learning styles and to create an engaging and inclusive learning environment. With a deeper understanding of the fundamental chemical concepts, students are able to tackle advanced topics with confidence and enthusiasm in their future learning endeavors.

Prior to joining UMass, I taught organic and biochemistry as well as laboratory instruction at Kansas State University for six years. This diverse background has equipped me with a comprehensive understanding of chemistry education, enabling me to adapt my teaching methodologies to suit the evolving needs of students.
