The University of Massachusetts Amherst is accredited by the New England Commission of Higher Education (NECHE).
The most recent comprehensive accreditation review took place on October 21-24, 2018. On April 12, 2019, NECHE voted to continue UMass Amherst's accreditation for ten years. A standard fifth-year interim report will be submitted for consideration in fall 2023.
