Supporting residents in need with essential services
Amherst Survival Center connects residents of Hampshire and Franklin Counties to food, clothing, healthcare, wellness, and community, primarily through volunteer efforts. The center welcomes everyone to enjoy a Breakfast Bar, Hot Lunch, Fresh Food Distribution, Free Medical Clinic, Community (free) Store and Community Center/Volunteer Program. Other services include assistance with SNAP applications, a wellness program, job search support, and a variety of information and referral services.
ENGAGEMENT DETAILS: Volunteers are needed from 8:00 am – 4:00 pm on Monday, 8:00 am – 3:00 pm Tuesday and Friday, and from 8:00 am – 7:00 pm on Thursdays. Most people volunteer for one 3-hour shift each week. The center is 2.5 miles north of campus and is accessible by bus on PVTA # 33 to Amherst Survival Center stop.
