Major: Operations & Information Management
During the spring semester of my freshman year, I saw that a service-learning class with Terrell James came up, and I took that, and I was really into it. There were only four of us in the class, but I really liked it, and it broadened my perspective, and I learned a lot of new things that I never would have looked into on my own. Then, I joined CSP because I wanted a more in depth understanding. Also, because I’m in Isenberg, I feel like it balances out the capitalist mindset they impose on us there with the mindset here.
My favorite part about being involved with CESL is honestly the community. It’s so cheesy, but the people in the class, we’re all genuinely friends, we’ve been together for three semesters now, we all know each other. I love our little updates at the beginning of class, and I get to hear so many perspectives.
I think being involved with CESL has definitely made me question my job after college, as in do I want to do the corporate ladder? I used to think I did in high school, but now, I feel like definitely not. It will just get me where I need to be temporarily, but I definitely want to go into work that’s more meaningful.
