Through Connect UMass, you can network with over 7,000 UMass Alumni from across every major and industry. The Healthcare and Life Sciences Career Community in particular has hundreds of alums that are sharing articles and news stories, as well as job postings and mentoring opportunities for you to browse.
UMass Nursing Student Organizations
The Elaine Marieb College of Nursing student ambassadors extend the college's reach into the communities served and help represent the College to the public, prospective students, and visitors. Pre-licensure nursing students, including Nursing majors and Accelerated BS in Nursing students, are represented in the group.
SNA is a group of nursing students that come together to organize events to benefit the community. Some of our upcoming events include a breast cancer support walk known as Rays of Hope, Relay for Life, and volunteering at the Boston Marathon.
At the UMass Red Cross Club, the goal is to make a difference on campus by helping people. Each blood transfusion can save up to three lives, and that's our motivation behind volunteering countless hours and recruiting donors for the American Red Cross.

Professional Nursing Associations and Organizations
The American Academy of Nursing serves the public by advancing health policy and practice through the generation, synthesis, and dissemination of nursing knowledge. Academy Fellows are inducted into the organization for their extraordinary contributions to improve health locally and globally. With more than 2,900 Fellows, the Academy represents nursing’s most accomplished leaders in policy, research, administration, practice, and academia.
The American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) is the national voice for academic nursing. AACN works to establish quality standards for nursing education; assists schools in implementing those standards; influences the nursing profession to improve health care; and promotes public support for professional nursing education, research, and practice.
National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) is an independent, not-for-profit organization through which nursing regulatory bodies act and counsel together on matters of common interest and concern affecting public health, safety and welfare, including the development of nursing licensure examinations.
