About the Coalition
Our Mission
The Campus and Community Coalition to Reduce High-Risk Drinking is focused on improving the health, safety, and wellbeing of our communities by promoting responsible decision making about alcohol and other drug use. We learn about the factors that lead to high-risk and illegal drinking, analyze data, and implement proven, promising strategies for positive change.
Our History
The Campus and Community Coalition to Reduce High-Risk Drinking (CCC) came together in 2005. It was formed by university and community leaders with support from the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism.
Since its inception, risky drinking at UMass Amherst is down by as much as 26% and the comprehensive strategic plan which drives the effort has received national recognition.
The CCC is a diverse group with a common interest in reducing the negative impact of high-risk drinking.
