Over the summer, three UMass Biology undergraduates won awards for research posters they presented at the annual Animal Behavior Society conference in Baltimore, MD.
Taylor Parham and Ethan Gray, working with OEB grad student Alex Winsor and Biology faculty Beth Jakob, won second place in a society-wide competition for their poster "Retinal Tracking to Test Number Sense in Jumping Spiders (Phidippus audax).” Alexander DuToit, working with OEB grad student João Menezes and Biology faculty Jeff Podos, won third place for his poster "Vocal performance tradeoffs in Bare-throated Bellbirds (Procnias nudicollis): song amplitude covaries with timing characteristics"
