This past week, members of the Stephens Lab were notified that their manuscript, "Lamin B loss in nuclear blebs is rupture dependent whereas increased DNA damage is rupture independent", was published in the Journal of Cell Science. A significant portion of the data for this project was collected by undergraduate biology majors during Dr. Andrew Stephens' Bioimaging 477H lab course. Students participated in a course-based undergraduate research experience (CURE) where they were able to apply cell biology and microscopy techniques to real-world questions.The work was later completed with the help of Nick Lang and Catherine Chu, who are co-first authors on the manuscript.
