Teaching statement:

My teaching philosophy is deeply rooted in active learning and the Growth Mindset. Through these, I hope to empower students to commit to lifelong learning, critical thinking, and problem-solving, and to cultivate resilience and adaptability to thrive today and in the future.

My goals as an educator are three-fold: 1) to ignite curiosity and enthusiasm among students for learning science and its practical applications; 2) to foster active and lifelong learning; and 3) to collaborate with both students and fellow educators in the education process.

My commitment to innovative teaching and learning with equity has been recognized by the K. Patricia Cross Future Leaders Award in Higher Education from the American Association of Colleges and Universities 2023 Award and the Plant BLOOME Teaching Grant from the American Society of Plant Biologists 2023 Winners. My goal is to continue contributing to teaching and learning to foster a supportive learning environment with fellow educators where students thrive today and in the future’.
