A key focus of the Bee Campus USA effort is educating and engaging the broader UMass community in pollinator education and stewardship. Examples of outreach events organized by the UMass Bee Campus Committee include a campus pollinator tour, a summer bioblitz, a bee hotel learning and cleaning event with the UMass Permaculture initiative, and tabling at the UMass Founders Day and Earth Day Extravaganza events. With our partner organization, the UMass Fernald Entomology Club, Bee Campus committee members are offering pollinator education on campus to UMass community members, 4-H groups, UMass pre-college summer programs, as well as visiting local schools, libraries, and nature centers.
