MANAGER: Sr Energy Modeler

LOCATION: 440 Totten Pond Rd, Waltham, MA

JOB DESCRIPTION

SUMMERY/OBJECTIVE:

The Energy Modeler’s job is to create an energy model of a house from blueprints. Using PlanSwift (takeoff software) the energy modeler will scale and measure the surface areas and volume of the building, creating a report which gets copied into the Ekotrope energy modeling software which produces the HERS Rating (Energy Rating). Houses are not always simple boxes, so this person must be able to visualize what is going on in odd conditions of the house, ask the important questions, and make a decision of what is most accurate. Buildings are then modeled for energy efficiency. Understanding of HVAC, insulation, windows and other energy efficiency features of the home will be critical. The Energy Modeler will also have exposure to buildings pursuing LEED and Phius certifications.

This position will also assist with project management efforts within the company including updates for rebate programs.

Candidate will be expected to attain RESNET HERS Modeler Certification and RESNET HERS Rater certification at the company’s expense.

Opportunity for field work is also a possibility.
