Construction Project Manager

Rushmore Construction Group  |  Full-Time, Salaried

About the Role

Rushmore Construction Group is a custom luxury home builder based in Monmouth County, NJ.Rushmore Construction Group is a custom luxury home builder based in Monmouth County, NJ. We handle every phase of residential construction — land acquisition, pre-construction planning, design coordination, build, and long-term homeowner care. Our clients aren’t buying a floor plan off a shelf; they’re building the home they’ve always wanted, and our job is to make that happen seamlessly.

We’re founder-led, which means the people making decisions are in the building every day. For someone early in their career, that matters. You won’t spend your first two years in a support role waiting for a slot to open up — you’ll be in the field, working directly with experienced PMs and site supervisors, learning how a high-end custom build comes together from excavation to handover.

We’re looking for a motivated, detail-oriented Construction Project Manager ready to take ownership of projects from planning through punchlist. We’re less focused on years of experience and more focused on finding the right person. If you’re highly organized, a natural communicator, and stay calm when things get complicated, we’ll invest in teaching you the rest.

What You’ll Do

Client & Professional Communication
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for homeowners and designers, providing regular updates on schedule, budget, change orders, and milestones
Manage communication with architects, engineers, and designers to keep projects moving forward
Coordinate with inspectors and township officials as needed
Subcontractor Coordination
  • Review purchase orders, define scopes of work, and confirm dates with trade partners
  • Review scope and material selections with subcontractors; perform quality control checks before work advances to the next phase
Scheduling
  • Build and maintain the master project schedule in Buildertrend
Sequence trades and major deliveries to keep projects on track
Budget & Financials
  • Track allowances and manage cost-to-complete
  • Review purchase orders and bills
  • Issue change orders as needed
Planning & Documentation
  • Review plans, shop drawings, and specs
  • Prepare site superintendent handover packets
  • Organize selections and purchase orders
  • Ensure permits, inspections, engineering sign-offs, and compliance items are properly filed
Quality Control & Punch Lists
  • Create and maintain rolling punch lists
  • Conduct site visits to verify quality and completion before trades advance
  • Partner with the site superintendent to resolve open items in a timely manner
Escalations
  • Handle client escalations, disputes, and scope conflicts with professionalism and composure

Tools You’ll Use

  • Buildertrend – project scheduling and management
  • Google Workspace – Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Docs and Sheets for day-to-day communication and documentation
  • Internal tools for communication, documentation, and note-taking

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field — OR an Associate’s degree from a trade or technical program with relevant coursework
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specs, and shop drawings
  • Comfortable managing multiple moving pieces across several projects simultaneously
  • Proficiency with project management software (Buildertrend experience a plus)
  • Someone who stays steady under pressure and brings a solutions-first attitude to every challenge — construction is a fast-moving, high-stakes environment, and the people who thrive here are the ones who don’t rattle easily

Compensation & Benefits

$60,000 – $80,000 base salary + performance bonus, commensurate with experience
