Abby Ogwang is an Operations and Information Management student with a secondary major in Theater here at UMass. She is from a small Massachusetts town about 45 minutes north of Boston, called Dracut. She watched the UMMB perform at MICCA in 2022 and was inspired to join once she attended the University. Previously, Abby was on the Publicity and Recruitment staff for 2 years, serving as the staff's manager last year. Along with being a member of the flute section, Abby has been involved with the UMass Theater department on and off stage. She is passionate about uplifting marginalized communities in the arts, and hopes to set that example as the Band Manager this year. She is excited to work with all 40+ amazing members of the 2026 Ad Staff, closing out her last year on a fantastic note!

Abby Brown is an English major with a specialization in Social Justice and minors in Latin and Political Science. Abby has a strong interest in government and the justice system and is intending to study Law after she graduates in 2028. She is from a small town in Massachusetts named Medway, and chose to come to UMASS for their strong English program. Outside of school and band, Abby enjoys reading, baking, and rock climbing. Before joining the UMMB, Abby had no prior marching band experience, but played trumpet in her school concert and jazz band, and was a member of orchestral ensembles outside of her high school. After many people described to her the impact of the UMMB and encouraged her to join, she decided to give it a try. She joined the Administrative Staff at the end of her freshman year and became a member of the Uniform Staff for the 2025 season. This upcoming 2026 season, Abby is looking forward to being involved in the band’s leadership on a more in depth level as the Travel Manager. She is excited to work with the many new members of Ad Staff this year, to uphold the magic of the UMMB for the incoming class. Abby is so grateful to be able to bring her leadership skills to this role, and greet all the new faces at registration!

Rachel Martin is a computer science major with an English minor from Westborough, MA. She joined Ad Staff after her first season in the UMMB and served on the Web Staff for a year before becoming Web Manager. She is a proud member of the UMMB Bones, a movement coach for the Amherst Independent Winterguard, and the current president of the Delta Delta chapter of Tau Beta Sigma. Outside of the band, Rachel shares her passion for music and movement as a dance teacher, specializing in tap. As Personnel Manager, Rachel is excited to connect with new band members across all sections and contribute to the Ad Staff’s positive impact on the band.
