What should I do about the IE requirement?
The main IE course for astronomy majors is ASTRO 339, which is offered in the spring semester. Astrophysics BS track students must fulfill the IE requirement by taking Physics 440. Please see the University Gen Ed requirements page for more detail.
Why can't I see the Five College courses in SPIRE?
Five College courses are outside the SPIRE's domain. You should find the Five College Course schedule through their web site (search all "astronomy" courses). To register, follow the step-by-step instruction given at the Five College Interchange.
What courses outside the Astronomy Department should I consider?
To enrich your learning experience as an Astronomy major, here are some courses you might want to consider in other departments:
Courses in the Math Department: Math 235 (Linear Algebra), Stat 515 & 516 (Statistics I and II)
Courses in the Physics Department: Physics 568 (General Relativity)
