While located in Academic Affairs, ASER contributes to University-wide assessment and evaluation priorities in a number of ways including:
- Coordinating UMass Amherst's participation in the Valid Assessment of Learning in Undergraduate Education (VALUE) Institute
- Working with the Faculty Senate General Education Council on the ongoing review and assessment of the General Education Program
- Gathering evidence to support and inform campus-wide Strategic Planning efforts
- Providing consultation and conducting surveys for a number of units outside of Academic Affairs
