The Arts Extension Service is proud to announce the first Clean Energy in the Cultural Sector Cohort, funded by the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center!
Eight arts and culture organizations serving Western Massachusetts environmental justice communities (Ancestral Bridges Foundation Inc., Art Garden, Bombyx, Community Music School of Springfield, Shea Theater, WAM Theater, Workshop 13, and Woven Roots) have been selected to participate.
Together, these leaders will work with AES Director Dee Boyle-Clapp, the UMass Clean Energy Extension’s Dwayne Breger, and colleagues Adam Bright, Noha Amin, and Lauren de la Parra to create action plans that add clean energy, save money, reduce emissions, and position the arts as climate leaders in their communities.
This initiative is a key step in aligning cultural leadership with climate responsibility, and AES is excited to celebrate these organizations as they chart a more sustainable path forward.
