Empowerment Through The Arts, (ETTA Arts) is a creative partnership of individuals, human service agencies, artists, therapists and arts organizations dedicated to creating inclusive programming and ARTS opportunities for the enrichment and empowerment of individuals with a “lived experience” of being labeled with a disability; and peers without labels.  ETTA Arts is dedicated to offering training in the arts to ALL abilities. Inclusion in the Arts is crucial for support of self-expression.

We seek community partners and multi-year funding sources, individual and business donations for the operation of this unique new non-profit. We believe in taking bold steps in creating unquestioned access to inclusive arts programming for this diverse group of individuals: diverse in terms of ethnicity, culture and ability; artists, performers, comedians, writers, etc..

INTERNSHIP DESCRIPTION:

The arts marketing and communication intern may assist in the following areas: Support writing and design of website, e-newsletter, posters, and other online and print promotion; Support market research, and assisting in marketing analysis to help organization grow. and in the business community.  Participating in intern meetings, with weekly check-ins, and scheduling follow ups for task completion. These could be hybrid with some meetings in person.

Work may include the following:

  • Assist in content creation including email, blog, social media, and video edits and creation, e-newsletter, and social media posting;
  • Learn how to evaluate current methods of outreach to our potential membership and community for programs and suggest improvements;
  • Assist in the research of target audiences;
  • Research promotional tools to reach audiences;
  • Help to maintain a social media presence;
  • Be an active collaborator in all of the above.

Requirements:

  • Enthusiasm for the organization’s mission;
  • Strong writing skills.
  • Understanding of social media platforms – especially Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter/X as well as blog creation;
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Experience in Excel and Mac programs and Google Drive;
  • Other skills as needed for completion of work.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Involvement in or Completion of AES Arts Marketing course;
  • Some experience with digital design and editing platforms such as Canva, Adobe Spark, iMovie, and/or other photo/video editing programs is helpful.

PERIOD OF INTERNSHIP/EMPLOYMENT: Multiple Semesters/Seasons

PAY TYPE: Unpaid; Possibility of credit through current degree plan- as approved by advisor or professor.

OPPORTUNITY TYPE: Internship

JOB STATUS: Part-time, 8-10 hours per week
