Campus Center Auditorium

UMass Amherst Career Services and Professional Development, UMass Arts Extension Service's Arts Entrepreneurship Initiative, and the Amherst Area Chamber of Commerce present the Amherst-Area and Arts & Humanities Internship Fair. This fair will be held in person at the Campus Center Auditorium on Friday, September 6, from 12 pm to 3 pm. This campus-wide fair showcases local internship providers seeking part-time interns. With internship providers from a wide range of sectors, this fair is a great opportunity to meet motivated students from all 111 majors at UMass.

For Students

Local artists, nonprofits, and creative businesses are hiring part-time Interns and work-study students at the Amherst-Area and Arts & Humanities Internship Fair. Come make connections and line up your hands-on experience for the semester or school year and build your resume.

KNOW BEFORE YOU GO

  • Research the organizations coming. Providers will be added as they register, so keep checking back for an updated list.
  • Polish up your resume - many career centers offer virtual appointments even over breaks (schedule now in Handshake).
  • Prepare your 30 second introduction of self - your "pitch."
  • Questions? Contact us at @email.
For Providers

This Fair is open to employers and internship providers with a local office location commutable from the Amherst campus. Space permitting, providers throughout Western MA offering virtual or hybrid internships are welcome. Students will be looking for paid internship opportunities, jobs, and work study positions at community organizations.

Internship Providers may register for the Fair by filling out the registration form. Parking passes will be provided for the Campus Parking Garage. Directions and logistics will follow as we get closer to the date of the fair.

Here is what you can work on right now:

  • The best way you can help us get the word out to the students you want to meet is by ensuring your “Looking For” section in the Handshake registration for the Fair is filled out as thoroughly as possible. If you don't have a Handshake account, please contact Arts Extension Service staff at @email to start that process.
  • The students like to research and will spend time looking at who is coming to the fair to see what roles you are recruiting for, and if there is a match, they will likely attend the fair. The best way you can help yourself is to make sure ALL your open internships, and jobs if you have them too, are posted in Handshake as soon as possible.

Questions may be directed to Arts Extension Service staff at @email.
