On View: APRIL 10 - 20, 2026
Opening Reception: APRIL 13 at 4:00pm
The Department of Art is pleased to present Proofs of Practice, an exhibition of work by senior Art Education students and their supervising practitioners. The works in the exhibition were made during an afternoon workshop at Zea Mays Printmaking, a professional print studio renowned for its commitment to environmentally sustainable printmaking practices in April, 2026.
The exhibition honors the partnership between student teachers and their mentors—the practicing educators who dedicate their time and expertise to guiding the next generation of art teachers. Conceived as a gesture of appreciation, the printmaking workshop invited both groups to step back into the role of artist together, reconnecting with the creative process that underpins their shared vocation.
Each print in the exhibition reflects a moment of exchange—between emerging and experienced educators, between teaching and making, and between the classroom and the studio. The works reflect the ideas that develop when teacher candidates and practicing educators work side by side.
