Professor Susan Jahoda has been named a recipient of the 2025–2026 HFA Mid-Career Faculty Research and Creative Activity Award at UMass Amherst. This recognition honors her work to support the artistic contributions of students and faculty in the Studio Art Department.
The award also recognizes the importance of creative activity as a vital form of scholarship within the university. At UMass Amherst, Professor Jahoda has remained committed not only to advancing her own artistic practice, but also to fostering a rigorous learning environment in which students develop technical skill, critical awareness, and a deeper understanding of artistic practice as a mode of inquiry and knowledge production. As Graduated Program Director, she has supported the continued excellence of the art department as a research entity.
